Question: Why do people hate feminists?
I've seen so many people say they hate feminists (and therefore feminism) even though feminism is: "The advocacy of women's rights on the grounds of political, social, and economic equality to men."
Do people just not realise that a feminist is a person who wants equality between genders(therefore men and women can be feminists)? Or do they realise this and they're just a bunch of sexist assholes?

I'm a woman and I hate (ok hate is a bit strong), dislike, feminists. IMO feminism has eroded our traditional nuclear family ways. Just look at the divorce rates. Ultimately who suffers the most? Our children. It's one thing to want equal rights and respect, but another to act like there's no difference between men and women. Hello we are not men, I don't want to be a man.
It's still nice to have the man be the breadwinner. Not a weeny man to stay at home, taking care of the kids while mommy brings home the bacon, ya know?

as a typical male with fragile ego and the works, not many at all could truly hate a feminist. A true man loves women....all women....supposedly by virtue of a curse....I don't know about that, but if a guy loves women, then he loves all women, even women who are brazen enough to say they could do without a man's love if it means he'll act like an as* because of it. So feminists just don't realize that the masculined me up with, Mom, doesn't seem to lead on to her that I'm just crazy for the gals. I ain't angry sister, just a wee bit hurt.
Actually women ought to be honored that Women's Studies made the University class list. Men's studies are I think a bit too not so clean fun, but you can bet your bottom dollar that if there was a Men's Studies curriculum, the first item to address of it is women.----in fact , I once thought a feminmissed was a man's general missing of a woman's or women's company, touch, perspective, etc.
I have just read these comments and your question and i have to say this. Not all men are pigs!! and not all women are bitches!! everyone has there own opinion and it suits them to what they have experienced and i have to put it out there without the history of feminist life would not be fair.
Equality is the key word. We (men) don't want to be looked down on by any particular group - the same way women feel.
Once you get a group together, there becomes a feeling of power and dominance. That can be a very dangerous thing for men and women, KKK and Black Panthers, or just simple street gangs to name a few.
Public assembly should be for the purpose of building one another up, not tearing anyone else down. No one needs to dislike anyone, but unfortunately, they do.

They just seem kind of Bi***y. Not that this is my opinion. I think the whole movement can overcompensate though and end up being sexist to men in some cases. Its really not an issue in New Zealand where I live though... First country to give women the vote and basically equal rights.
There is equality for women. There has been so for quite a few years. The reason people hate feminists is because feminists are an excuse for retarded women to complain about nothing.
