Question: Why is the sky orange outside?

It's 10 pm in michigan and it's dark but out of no where the sky is kinda orange and it's lighting up and it's scaring the hell out of me. I've never seen it like this before is this normal?

it did that to us in utah a few weeks ago :]
it was hella scary.
the whole sky was like bright orange and yellow and there was lightning??
i dunno, it went away here after like half an hour to an hour.

If it's cloudy, the most logical answer is that street lamps are reflecting off of the clouds. Drive around your town at night and see if the street lamps glow orange.
