Question: Why does my wireless broadband keep disconnecting?
Every few minutes my broadband connection on my laptop goes even though my modem shows its still connected. If I disconnect and then re-connect using the little icon on my toolbar it usually re-connects. I have Norton 360 installed. Whats going on??

Answer:
If your modem shows it as still working, then the wireless network adapter in your laptop is at fault. If so, you'll need it replaced.
EDIT: If the adapter came with the laptop, it very well should be still in warranty.
I have this problem...the wireless connectivity is fine between the router and the laptop. BT have been out and say it is just interference on the telephone line which causes the connection to break down...not a lot they can do as I am a fair way off the exchange.
u have to check u firewall, sometimes firewalls or ennoying da same, bt u have to check u modem too:)
Which router (make and model)? Is this every few minutes, even if you're not doing anything? Then I'd suspect a heat problem. Wireless routers generate a LOT of heat and they have to get rid of it - by circulating a LOT of cool air through the case. If the router is on top of the modem, or in an enclosure, or near a wall, it could be overheating. Or if you're downloading huge files at high speeds, or gaming intensively.
Without knowing more, all we can do is guess.

Make sure all your filters are in place - and none on the modem.
