Question: Why does my psychiatrist want to take me off epilim (Schizophrenia)?
First off ,I have Paranoid Schizophrenia..I've been diagnosed for a little over 1 year now.I've been on many different medications for it..but none worked .So I am now on Invega 15mg,1000 epilim & 6mg benztrop. Finally I am feeling a lot better but still having some of the negative symptoms and still seeing things here and there.The voices have stopped for now.Which is a really good thing.But last week I went back to my psychiatrist for my monthly visit and he's happy i'm getting better but he wants to ween me off of epilim..Now why would he want to do that.. if I said it was finally working?? It doesn't seem right..

Maybe it's to see if he can put you on a weaker med.
