Question: What's going on with my female betta?

I have a female betta (I had her for about 3 yrs now) she is in a 2.5 gallon aquarium she has always been very active up to now. She won't eat when I find them (I have just got a male betta) she used jump out of the water when I give them there blood worms. Now all she does now is either hid in her plant or go to the bottom of the aquarium. What's going on? And how can I help her? Thank You!

Answer:

Are these in the same tank?

I had a male betta a while ago and he stopped eating for a few days but he started eating again after a while. Don't keep adding food if it does not get eaten. I kept a male and a female betta together for months but then one day the female just attacked the male leaving him floating at the top with no fins I removed the female and the male eventually recovered. I would not keep a male and a female betta together unless they are both quite young.

It might be the male...is he bugging her?
