Question: Wanna join the army, but?

I went down to my recruiter maybe a year and a half ago, was dissuaded by family and others close to me. I wish I had, wouldn't have the problems I got now.

I dislocated my shoulder six months ago, aside from some nagging pain it hasn't given me any trouble or impaired my ability. But like any injury, it certainly can some day.

So from what I gather you take the test and then go on to PT...let's say I DID get hurt during training, would they kick my *** out? Or would they gimme time to heal and get back on the field?

I mean I'm sure recruits who are otherwise fine get banged up pretty bad, are they just tossed aside, discharged?

On the related subject, would it be considered a dishonorable discharge?

Answer:

Seriously, I wouldn't want some kind of pussy like you watching my back. Get a desk job. You would never survive paintball, let alone 1 week in the army.

You will be given time to heal. If it's recurring or something that won't go away, you would likely get either a general discharge or a medical discharge. If you can pass a MEPS physical and can do at least 50 push-ups in 2 minutes and 60 sit-ups in 2 minutes, then enlist.

Ok...let's talk discharges. Do you honestly think a DD would be given for a medical issue?

A dishonorable requires a courts martial, and is reserved for things like treason.
