Question: Should the xbox 360, ps3, and wii be the last new consoles?
I mean just the ps3 does so much (internet browser, dvd, music, netflix etc.). consoles are already advanced enough they do not need to get anymore advanced. I say we should stop making new consoles and stick with what we got. Who is with me?

It would be nice if I didn't have to pay $400 for a new system every few years...but then comparing one gen to another I think that there is so much to gain by them releasing new systems. Honestly, I could live off 5th gen games and earlier, but it is fun to see how far video games can be pushed. Even if they bring out a PS4 tomorrow, I probably won't get one for 3 or 4 years.
I bought PS3 slim consoles originally to play exclusively movies. I have recently acquired a few games and love the graphics (even though xbox is superior in this area) of the games. The quietness of the machine and the slim design are great too. The only thing I am unimpressed about is the slow startup process.

NO they shouldn't stop! What if the makers of cell phones decided to call it quits before they installed cameras and stuff? Then you'd have to spend the extra money on a camera...which is a total waste when you can have a camera on your phone. Or what if they said "phone calls are enough"? Then text messaging would not exist. Why would they stop? And especially since they are huge rivals...whoever has the best features wins right? I have a ps3, but almost all the people in my area are xbox fanboys...):
I do agree in a way, but in another I do not.
Consoles are all about playing games, but the new trend seems to be making them an all around entertainment centre. I don't like that consoles are becoming that. It defeats the point of what a gaming console is; FOR GAMING!!
But the fact is that technology is still improving, it's good that things are getting more advanced. I mean, graphics are great now, (but of course you still need great gameplay for a game to be good) and realism is good, (although I don't want games to become too real, and unrealistic games are very fun to play too) I just don't want my beloved consoles to be entertainment centres that can do this and that and everything else you could ever want in a box. They are not meant for that. It p*sses me off.
I agree but people get bored of the same consoles I'm sure there making an all 3d console soon and i know that the new consoles( xbox720? And the ps4 and possibly wii2) are in the making.
