Of course, the majority of Americans oppose the Afghan War and would support him in such a decision. Yes, even many people who are not usually supporters of the Obama administration will support him, including the growing movement led by Republican Congressman Ron Paul.
McCrystal should be fired for his outrageous insubordination. Yes, Fox News will smear Obama over this, but they're going to be against Obama no matter what he does.
Many Republican strategists, in their typical delusional fashion, think that they can win the midterm elections by attacking Obama for his failure to continue damaging relations with Russia with that useless "Star Wars" thing Bush wanted to put on Russia's borders and for failing to appease the crazed General McCrystal. However, Obama would do well to remember what happened to a previous liberal president, Lyndon Baines Johnson, because of his refusal to end an unpopular no-win war.
Will Obama take his opportunity to end this pointless war or will he continue to harm his party's future electoral prospects and the country by continuing a war he can't win? Why won't Obama just fire McCrystal and get rid of this most obnoxious general?
Relation Questions:
Answer:
Where is the insubordination?
Obama should be fired for surrendering to Russia, the Taliban, and Al Qaeda.
I wish he would pull out of Afghanistan and Iraq.
That would take a real big set.
Obama smeared himself with his own statements and actions since he entered the political arena. Fox news just keeps bringing up what Obama has said. Over and over and over .
The way the U.S. has been conducting war only provides target practice and training for our enemy's.
Sure, just leave Afghanistan and let the Taliban move into Pakistan where they have Nukes.
At least the general wants to obliterate the Taliban only for Obama to make the rules of engagement more difficult to do so.
EDIT - Ingrid, that's what happened in Vietnam.
Obama says Afghan war is the war of necessity, so if Obama decides he knows better than the Trained Generals, the Generals should resign and let Barry and his band of thieves fight "their" war.
McCrystal should be commended for the work he is done so far, and deserves his share of the POTUS' time. Honestly, if Obama is just going to dance around the war issue and attend Chicago rallies for the Olympics, he needs to either make his war decisions fast or give McCrystal full control of war-related decision making.

antiwar.com?..come back with some credible links...lol
Obamas the only insubordinate one, and you know it...he still votes present and is playing politics with our soldiers lives!! I cant believe you are blaming McCrystal for this
Obama is doing the responsible thing and holding a series of meetings to determine our strategy, instead of just throwing more troops at the problem.
McCrystal should be instructed to teach the Afghans how to fight their
fights and we should only be Assistants.
yes

NO, Obama is a COWARD!

The only thing that's "crazed" is guys like you who can only see 2 inches in front of their face and are utterly incapably of understanding or appreciating what cutting and running in Afghanistan would actually mean long term, because many seem only able to think short term and have completely lost any long term thought process, if they ever had it that is. The Brits Gen Richards has it absolutely correct, but again nobody is going to listen until it's to late, just like Churchill in the late
30's about Germany and then again about the Russians at the end of the war.
You don't seem to have a clue of what is going on over their, you don't piss off a bear & then just walk away, what of the people of Afghanastan that want freedom from the taliban, what about the women who are murdered on a daily basis for th most minor infractions, what about the terrorest who recrute their to come here to finish what was started 9/11/01, did it ever just once occure to you that with more troops afghanistan can be won & the taliban squashed for good.
Cowards run, soldiers fight.
I guess you don't read...The plan is to pull back from isolated outposts (You know...the kind where our soldiers are getting killed at) and reinforcing the cities and larger rural areas. The Afghan Assault after the 9/11 attacks was the right move..I'll give W and Company credit for that...his failure came when he decided to finish Daddy's war. Afghanistan is a necessary evil...almost all Dems and a Majority of Cons see that.....despite Cons complaining about it.
