Question: Should the Arleigh Burke class destroyers be considered cruisers due to their massive size and fighting power?
class="p1">There are 34 Block IIA Arleigh Burke class destroyers in the US Navy. DDG-79 to DDG-116.
Block IIA DDG-51:
Length: 510 ft
Beam: 66.6 ft
Draught: 21 ft
Displacement: 9200 tons
Weapons(main armament): 96 missiles
They would have been in World War II.
The only reason they aren't is because by law they would have to be nuclear-powered.
