Question: Is a possible third world war between USA and China ?
possible, very unlikely.
2 counties extremely dependent on each other, both armed with hundreds of extremely powerful nuclear weapons that would result in utter destruction of each other, especially China, which claims it will last forever, is simply unlikely.

It is possible but its extremely unlikely as now a world war means nuclear war, since both countries have a huge nuclear arsenal it would be very foolish to do so. So I guess the answer is no
anythings possible i suppose,but i highly doubt it will be "mutual destruction" per say.High casualties yes,but mass majority chinese.The U.S. has 8500 warheads with 1950 active,the chinese have 240 with 180 active,so they would be at a very high disadvantage,also consider that the U.S. can easily shoot down incoming nukes which the chinese government lacks in technological comparison.The U.S. navy can be any where in the world in a matter of hours,and considering China's biggest cities are on its southeast coast,they will be vulnerable to bombardments and with such a small navy in comparison to the U.S. they couldn't stop it,we would basically just keep bombing them until they surrendered.
I would hardly call it World War III if it's just between the United States and China.

A third world war will result in M.A.D ( Mutually assured destruction) , since only some 80 to 90 nukes are required to destroy the world & send the earth into nuclear winter.
U.S & Russia has thousands of nukes & nations like China , India ,Israel & France has hundreds of them.
