Question: Is Fallen a Twilight rip-off?
Opinions vary vastly on this subject, but I believe that it is not a rip-off, but merely following in the trend currently dominant in the YA genre. Both books contain paranormal creatures, borderline abusive love interests and a girl who allows everyone else to do the work for them.
Some of the similarities and differences include:
Alice <-> Ariane. Both are the twee, cheerful best friends of the main character and younger sister figures to love interest. However, Ariane is a better written character with a wild, almost dangerous side. This is lost in mpst of the sequels, however, where she becomes an Alice clone.
Luce <-> Bella. Both are weak and bitchy girls who inexplicably attract the eye of the main character because of fate. However, Luce seems to genuinely care about her parents and friends, and has a reason to be mistrustful. Again,this is lost in the sequels.
Daniel <-> Edward. Both are hot-cold on-off love interests who stalk the object of their affections and believe they know best all of the time. However, Daniel shows a slightly deeper side -- again, until the sequels.
Angel <-> Vampires.
I hopehis answers your questions.

Answer:
no, im reading Fallen at the moment, its great!
just because somebody wrote about vampires doesnt mean then anything to do with fantasy creatures is a rip off
imo in fallen the story line is more fast paced, the author doesnt spend as long describing things. ( especially in the battle scenes, sometimes a little harder to follow)
No, and Fallen is a brilliant, very worth while read. The characters are better developed and the story line itself is better.
That and the fact that it's about angels and not glittery vampires.
lol.
Fallen > Twilight.
