Question: How to meditate properly...?
Think about the very first time
you where learning to drive,
remember how engaged you
where? You could feel every
movement you made, you
where fully present in what you where doing, you where in a
state of heightened
awareness. After a few weeks
all your motions where
effortless , you could look at
your rear view mirror, adjust your stereo, and change gears
with very little awareness...i had an object of concentration. When i am focus on object of meditations, i am expanding my awareness to allow myself to also notice my thoughts..what does it mean..Simply noticing every time my mind starts to wander...when i fail to notice..It is the first step to understand my unconscious habits... Someone who tries to be a good person
requires great effort.. A conscious person needs no
effort, living a conscious life
makes you a good person...it has been past 2 years...since i can't quiet my DAMN MIND (thoughts)..HOW TO OVERCOME FRUSTRATION,DEPRESSION...i am not controlling anything...give me a VALUABLE ANSWERS to increase my CONCENTRATION AND AWARENESS..Please give me a valuable good answers...

Answer:
The fact that you even notice that your mind tends to wander tells me that you are indeed aware. The mind thinks. That's what it does. Meditation is not to stop the mind from thinking, but to notice the patterns of thought. The stop and start of each thought. The content of each thought. Meditation isn't utter concentration on one thing. In doing that you are cutting off everything else. You need to learn to be able to just sit with whatever thoughts come and go and not get upset by them. Recognize them for the ephemeral things that they are and realize that they are temporary, just like everything on this earth
