Question: How to begin a story?
I have had an idea with me for a while now and I've been meaning to make a short story out of it.
But i don't know where to start.
Any tips on how to start a writing piece?

Answer:
Just write. One way to start is as if you are telling a friend about a movie you just saw. Write all the scenes, what was said by whom, and the ending. It won't be good, but it's your starting point.
Then go back and write the actual story.
Once upon a time......
The general advice on beginning a story is to create a first paragraph which is a "hook" -- intended to capture the reader's attention and interest and to suggest that an exciting and appealing story is to follow. If you have an idea for your story, try to figure how you can "sell" it to the reader from the initial paragraph. Good luck!
It may sound strange, but I would write the body of your story, the main idea or the climax, first. Then the beginning will fall into place.
Well, here are some suggestions:
It was a dark and stormy night.
No one knew his/her secret.
I'm alive, thought *so and so*, for now.
Talk about the main character first or main characters.
Try to just write a sentence that describes something the person sees, or the person, or even the story its self. Just write some kind of helpful word like:
Now
When
Every time
Sometimes
(Verb)ing
Then see if you can fit some inda of opening statement after that. Its kinda hard to start a sory, so the best thing to do is just try to start writing and then get into teh flow of it.
