Question: Does cutting and pasting data from my hard drive to external drive delete what was on the original drive?
Yes, if you're cutting and pasting.
I'd advise you to copy and paste, make sure that your files have successfully transferred to your external hard drive, and then delete them from your hard drive if that's what you intended.
if you COPY and paste then no, but if you cut it then yes it will. Hope this helps! :)
I think you mean Copying and pasting. The answer is no it just copys it. You can tell by doing it and looking to see if the file is there still
cutting means taking out. so yes. if you want to keep the one on the original drive just copy and paste
