Question: Creation Vs Evolutionism?

Evolutionism started from the belief that non living matter can over time become living matter. Although Pasteur and the study of the incredible complexity of even the most simple cell have proven this to be false there are many that still believe in it. That is called abiogenesis. Then they had to find a way to get from that unicellular cell to humans without God. Darwinists originally believed that characteristics that one gains during the life time are passed to the children. DNA proved that this is not so. (see the idea of how long necks on giraffes appeared-wishful thinking model). Then when DNA disproved that neo darwinists appeared. Those claimed that random mutations caused evolution. Problem is random mutation either are to small to be preserved more than 2-3 generations, or they are big in which case the organism gets sick and most often dies. Even if the organism would not die it is highly unlikely to have offspring. If the organism has offspring, the mutation will be filtered out.

Answer:

Evolution of course,,Creationism is a mental disease,,

Nothing is worse than active ignorance. Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

So why do you cling to it so tightly?

More to the point why do you post to try and make Christians look ignorant fools?

The Pope, Catholic Church, Church of England and mainstream churches all accept the big bang and evolution!

Lord Carey the former Archbishop of Canterbury put it rather well – “Creationism is the fruit of a fundamentalist approach to scripture, ignoring scholarship and critical learning, and confusing different understandings of truth”!

Nice that christians and atheists can agree and laugh together even if it is at fundie expense!

But behind the laughter is the despair at the fundamentalists striving so hard to destroy christianity by turning it from a religion to an ideology!

Surveys suggest that 29% of American christians are so extremist in their beliefs that they fall well outside of the accepted bounds of christianity!

Please state which extremist sect you belong to so that GOOD christians can disassociate themselves from you and explain why your sect is so at odds with Christianity!

Sorry, but you're full of crapola, and I think you know it. Evolutionary biology is a rigorous science just like physics or genetics or any other scientific field.

The notion that the living world changes with time goes back to the ancient Greeks. Xenophanes in the sixth century BCE observed fossils and concluded that they had once been submerged. Modern evolutionary thought began with Darwin's publication of the Origin of Species in 1859.

There is no creation vs. evolution because evolution is not about the origin of life; creation is.

I watched a documentary on the theory of evolution a while ago and one of the scientists they had on there said something to the effect of, just because you cannot figure out how something could have happened does not mean that evolution is false, it just means that you need to imagine better.

When I heard that I was dumb struck. That is not science, that is straight up faith, and belief. I also hear about various scientists theorizing about the idea of aliens coming in and seeding the earth and getting life started. Well to that I ask (rhetorically) what is the difference between that and the idea of God.

Powerful being/s from a far away place that came to earth and got life started.
Powerful being/s from far away place that have come to earth and influenced culture and other things.

The only real difference is the nature of the beings.

I hear people trying to say that the idea of God is just not reasonable, and that there is no proof for it, however, in reality we cannot logically expect proof for the existence of God and to do so would be a sign of a very shallow mind.

I say that simply because if we think about the kind of level that an entity like God would have to be compared to us, it would be about like trying to get a 1 dimensional being, to understand a 4 dimensional being. It is just not going to happen very easily. And to rule out the idea of God simply because you do not understand it or think it is possible is to adopt an attitude that stifles creativity and progress.

As far as how Evolution got its start, it came from an arrogant self righteous man looking for ways to avoid admitting that he could have been wrong in his youth.

In his auto biography Charles Darwin said about himself in his twenties that he had slowly come by that time to know that the Bible, Hinduism, and the "beliefs of any barbarian" were nothing but a joke that ignorant people fell for. He went on to say that he had "never since doubted for a single second that [his conclusion was correct." (1)

To that quote Hugh Nibley said that "Those are the words of a man who knows all the answers and is proud rather than ashamed of his unflinching loyalty to his adolescent prejudices. Just how much would a young English theology student in the 1820's know about the real history of the world, books of the Hindus, or "the beliefs of any barbarian"? Next to nothing is putting it mildly, but it was enough to put a stamp of "complete disbelief" on Darwin's thinking forever after." (1)

So someone with that kind of adolescent prejudice is the one who conceived of the idea of Evolution and in reality it is the same kind of people who are finding new "evidences" to support Evolution.
