Question: Can i return the fish i bought, if they got ick and died within 2 weeks?
I bought 9 goldfish and 2 chinese algae eaters from Petco less than two weeks ago. A few days ago, I found out that the goldfish got ick. Today, two of them died and the rest are looking like they'll die very soon. Can I return them, or will I not get a refund because it wasn't Petco's fault that they died?

I would go ahead and get the water tested. but as far as returning the fish for a refund, I think your out of luck!
Because it's possible to kill a fish in less than a day if you have the wrong conditions in your aquarium, I think it might be difficult to get a refund. You have to consider that your aquarium might be killing the fish.
Well it really should be the stores fault since they failed to warn you that adding too many fish at one is dangerous and that's why they're all dying. I'd never add more than 4 at once.
I dunno what their return policy is but go back to the store and see what they can do to help you.
I wouldn't put more fish in that tank water though. Change some of the water (or all of the water if all the fish die you can fully clean it out)
Remember, when adding fish it is important to start with 1-3 fish at a time. Putting 11 fish at a time will shock the system and fish will start getting sick.
They require a water sample. With that small of a tank and that many fish, there's no way your water is going to pass the test.
A simple trip to Aquadvisor.com would have saved you this headache.
Remember they are in the business of selling fish. Typically stores have 5-14 day guarantees. Most fish can stay alive in tap water in a bucket for 2 weeks, so they don't give out many refunds.
probably your water will test bad and they might not refund.
people cheat petco all the time and get away with it, with that refund policy
