Question: Can we live on the clouds?

I've always wondered why no one thought of living on clouds. Since we are so crowded here, we should move up there. I've seen it in a movie before! Also, they look so peaceful to lay on. I would love to have my house built on the clouds. We would also have a fantastic view!

Crowded? Who's crowded? http://persquaremile.com/2011/01/18/if-t…

Unless you happen to be lighter than air and lighter than water vapour, as well as the materials your house are also less dense than air and lighter than water vapour, then I have good news for you!

You can live on the clouds just like in your vision.

Clouds are made of gas and impossible to "lay" on. Our bodies are denser and heavier than gas, so for us to live clouds, we would need some sort of engine holding us on a platform at a specific height from the ground.
Secondly, clouds are freezing cold... the higher up you go in elevation, the colder it gets and the thinner the air. That's why we are able to see them from the ground. Think seeing your breath in winter.

We would have to live inside a completely sealed structure held at a specific elevation by some sort of engine.

Even the birds don't think of living in the cloud despite they're quite opportuned to than human. The birds still do come down to earth to feed themselves. So what's the essence of living up there? Then if anything will do live up there it should be ghosts...

Buckminster Fuller proposed Cloud Nine Tensegrity Spheres as possible future habitats. These would be large aluminum geodesic domes where a small town of about 10,000 people would live and the air would be heated just slightly over ambient temperatures causing it to float in the sky.

Clouds are made of mist or fog if you want to think of it that way. There is no solid ground for anything to be bult on. So the answer to your question is no.

LOL, sadly, the answer is no. It's a nice idea, though. Clouds are made of water vapor, and therefore, we would fall right through. They would hardly support anything.

Sounds like you have been living in the clouds. Your vision is cloudy.

there are huge lands in china, and various other countries unexplored.

I think people are starting to take this business of "Cloud Computing" and "Cloud Storage" just a little bit too far.

Why didn't you think of anywhere else? I'm sure you didn't meant to ask kind of this question.

Please send me some of what you are on..........
