Question: Can you go deaf by listening to beats by Dr Dre?

I have studied sound for a decade give or take. from the biology of the ear to acoustic theory and electronics...

The answer to the question is NO. And you would have to go to some trouble to prove otherwise or just be a complete idiot...

This is not to say that you can impair or damage hearing with PROLONGED listening to sound over a particular level.

...As for the product 'beats' its just a brand, and technically speaking not impressive in anyway, they are just normal crappy headphones with Dre's name on them. Their components are selected because they are cheap and easily available, not becuase of any benifit to the sound.

If you are worried about damaging your hearing and listen to music for LONG periods of time then I suggest looking up AVLS levels.
Or simple take breaks from litening at high volume and turn down.

Damaging your hearing is a worry when listening to loud music for long periods but deafness is worse case senario and would be preceeded by years/decades or steadily increasing hearing problems.

You probably wont be aware but how loud you listen to music actually affects how you hear it, so sounding louder isn't always sounding better ;)
